Internships

“What are you going to be when you grow up?”

Students at Innovation Lab High School, like all others, have heard this question their entire lives.

How should they know? Like most of us, they’ve seen the public face of many careers but have had few, if any, opportunities to see what is involved behind the scenes, where the vast majority of the work really happens. ILHS internships aim to change that.

Interns volunteer or work for a business or organization (typically five hours per week) and in return are brought backstage to see what it takes to be successful in that career. Mentors should expect to spend at least an hour or two each week to interacting with the intern. Interns should be prepared to work hard. Everyone involved in the internship should learn and grow through the process.
